Creighton University Medical Center / Bergan Mercy is seeking a dedicated Locum Physician to provide expert cardiac anesthesiology services in Omaha, NE. What You'll Do:
Cover a variety of cardiac cases, including open heart, thoracic, vascular, and structural heart surgeries.
Provide general anesthesia support when needed, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes.
Assist with perioperative echocardiography (TEE), demonstrating your specialized skills.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced, academic setting.
Support ongoing operative and perioperative care in a facility equipped with state-of-the-art technology including invasive and non-invasive cardiology, neuro IR, and advanced imaging.

Required Skills:
Completion of an approved CV anesthesiology fellowship (ACGME or equivalent).
Achieved at least testamur status in Advanced Perioperative Echocardiography (NBE).
TEE certification is mandatory.
At least five years of documented CV anesthesia experience if fellowship-trained applicants are unavailable.
Strong knowledge of cardiac surgical procedures and anesthesia management.
Proven ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Nice to Have Skills:
Experience supervising CRNAs during cardiac cases.
Prior experience in a Level 1 Trauma or academic hospital.
Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records.
Additional certifications in advanced perioperative imaging.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Fellowship in Cardiovascular Anesthesiology.
Minimum of five years post-fellowship CV anesthesia experience.
Prior locum or temporary staffing experience preferred but not required.
Other Requirements:
Must be TEEs certified and eligible for or hold a license to practice in Nebraska (licenses can be obtained if needed).
Ability to work unrestricted overnight and weekend call shifts through December 2026.
Willingness to work in Omaha, NE, at a well-equipped, 187-bed academic Level 1 Trauma Center.
Travel and lodging arrangements are preferred but not mandatory; local candidates are welcome.
