Join Our Team as a Locum Nurse Practitioner in Orthopedic Surgery – Coos Bay, OR

Are you a dedicated Nurse Practitioner looking to make a meaningful impact in orthopedic care? We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Locum Nurse Practitioner to support surgical teams in Coos Bay, Oregon. As a key member of the orthopedic surgical team, you will collaborate closely with attending physicians to assess patient histories, develop and implement comprehensive care plans, perform diagnostic procedures, and assist in surgeries. Your expertise will ensure exceptional patient outcomes through high-quality care and efficient clinical practices. This position provides vital support to hospital inpatient and emergency department services, with an emphasis on orthopedics.

Required Skills:
  • Current Nurse Practitioner license in Oregon
  • Experience in orthopedic surgical settings
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMRs) for documentation, orders, and care management
  • Strong assessment, diagnostic, and procedural skills
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in fast-paced, high-pressure situations
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Experience in orthopedic trauma or fracture management
  • Certification in orthopedic or surgical care specialties
  • Familiarity with surgical assisting and post-operative care

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing (DNP, MSN)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in surgical or orthopedic settings
  • Prior locum or temporary staffing experience is advantageous

Other Requirements:
  • Ability to participate in flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and overnight call coverage
  • Willingness to travel as needed within the Coos Bay region
  • Valid state or compact RN license and national certification (AANP or ANCC)
  • BLS and ACLS certification required
