Join Our Team as a Locum Nurse Practitioner – General Medicine VA

We are seeking experienced General Medicine Providers to perform Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments nationwide. In this role, you will conduct interview-based assessments and limited physical evaluations, supporting Veterans’ healthcare claims without prescribing or treatment responsibilities. The position offers the convenience of working from your own office location with all necessary credentialing and onboarding streamlined for quick start.
Required Skills:
Active Nurse Practitioner license in Virginia or applicable state
Background in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine
Experience or familiarity with Compensation & Pension exams and health assessments
Strong interview and assessment skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Nice to Have Skills:
Previous experience with Veterans’ health evaluations
Certification in relevant medical disciplines
Knowledge of VA regulations and procedures
Experience in telehealth or remote assessments
Preferred Education and Experience:
Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing (MSN, DNP, or equivalent)
Prior clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner, particularly in general or internal medicine
At least 2 years of experience performing assessments or evaluations in a clinical setting
Other Requirements:
Own professional office setup suitable for conducting assessments
Must be a local candidate with reliable internet and access to necessary technology
Willingness to work on a PRN, ongoing basis, with flexible scheduling
Ability to perform both 4-hour (half-day) and 8-hour (full-day) shifts
Availability to start on or before 02/02/2026
This role offers an hourly pay rate of $402.00, with flat rates for half-day ($600) and full-day ($1200) shifts, plus a one-time bonus of $650 for completing initial training and exams. Local travel costs are included in the rates; no travel reimbursements are provided outside of this.
