Are you a dedicated Nurse Practitioner with a passion for providing essential healthcare services? We are seeking a highly motivated Locum Nurse Practitioner to support vital Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments across Nevada. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to our nation's Veterans while enjoying flexible scheduling and competitive compensation.
In this role, you will perform interview-based assessments, physical examinations such as range of motion and muscle strength testing, with no prescribing or treatment responsibilities. The position offers the flexibility to work half-day (4 hours) or full-day shifts (8 hours), with local candidates only. Quick credentialing and onboarding ensure you can start making a difference promptly.
Required Skills:
Licensed Nurse Practitioner with valid certification
Experience in general medicine, internal medicine, family medicine, or orthopedic surgery
Strong interviewing and physical assessment skills
Ability to perform compensation and pension examinations
Attention to detail and excellent communication skills
Nice to Have Skills:
Prior experience in military or veteran healthcare assessments
Familiarity with federal or VA procedures
Certification in pain management or occupational health
Preferred Education and Experience:
Advanced practice nursing degree (MSN or DNP)
Minimum of 2 years clinical practice experience
Prior experience with compensation and pension assessments a plus
Other Requirements:
Own a designated office space within the specified radius of each location
Willingness to complete required training and perform initial exams at a bonus incentive
Compliance with all licensing, certification, and travel reimbursement policies
