Join Our Team as a Locum Nurse Practitioner in General Medicine – MO
Are you a qualified Nurse Practitioner seeking a flexible, impactful opportunity to serve veterans while working on your terms? We are looking for dedicated General Medicine Providers to join our team on a PRN basis, performing vital Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments across Missouri. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in veterans’ lives while maintaining a work schedule that suits your availability.
In this position, you will conduct interview-based assessments, including some physical evaluations such as range of motion and muscle strength testing. No prescribing or treatment is involved, making it an excellent fit for experienced general medicine practitioners. The work involves utilizing your expertise to ensure veterans receive the evaluations they deserve, all within a supportive, professional environment.
Required Skills:
Valid Nurse Practitioner licensure with certification in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or related fields.
Experience with general medicine assessments, preferably within a veterans’ or military healthcare setting.
Strong interview skills and proficiency in physical assessment techniques.
Ability to work independently at your own office location within a 50-mile radius.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Willingness to conduct short-term (4-hour half-day) or full-day exams as scheduled.
Nice to Have Skills:
Prior experience with Compensation & Pension exams.
Knowledge of veterans’ healthcare protocols.
Ability to perform and document assessments efficiently.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Medical background with current Nurse Practitioner certification.
Previous experience in general medicine, internal medicine, or orthopedics.
Experience with military or veteran populations is a plus.
Other Requirements:
Own office location within a 50-mile radius of your assigned site.
Willingness to participate in quick credentialing and onboarding processes.
Availability to start on February 2, 2026.
Local candidates only; travel costs are included in rates.
Must adhere to all applicable state, federal, and local laws regarding licensure and certification.
Additional administrative follow-up work (addendums, reports) is required but compensated within your daily or half-day rate.
