Join a dedicated team providing essential health assessments for our nation’s Veterans. As a Locum Nurse Practitioner specializing in General Medicine, you will perform non-treatment compensation & pension exams and separation health assessments, supporting veterans’ benefits while offering flexible scheduling that fits your lifestyle. This vital role allows you to leverage your medical background in a meaningful way, with the convenience of working in your own office location or at designated facilities in Minnesota.
Required Skills:
Valid Nurse Practitioner license in Minnesota
Experience in general medicine, internal medicine, family medicine, or orthopedic surgery
Strong interview and physical assessment skills, including range of motion and muscle strength testing
Ability to perform non-treatment exams independently and efficiently
Attention to detail for accurate reporting and document submission
Nice to Have Skills:
Prior experience with VA or veterans’ health assessments
Familiarity with compensation & pension examination processes
Additional certifications related to clinical assessments or veteran health
Preferred Education and Experience:
Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in general medicine or related fields
Prior experience with compensation and pension exams is advantageous but not required
Other Requirements:
Own a dedicated office space within a 25-mile radius of designated Minnesota locations (Detroit Lakes, Bemidji, Rochester)
Willingness to work on a PRN basis, performing 4 to 8-hour shifts as needed
Ability to commit to ongoing exams and administrative follow-up work
Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. and pass credentialing procedures
Local candidates only; travel expenses are included in the flat rates for onsite work

Hourly Pay Rate: $402.00 Start Date: 02/02/2026
