Overview:
We are seeking experienced Nurse Practitioners to perform Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments for veterans nationwide. This PRN, ongoing position provides the flexibility to choose your hours—whether half-days or full-days—delivering essential evaluations that directly impact veterans’ benefits and well-being. With the support of a dedicated team, you will conduct interview-based assessments and physical exams, contributing to a vital government service.
Required Skills:
Current Nurse Practitioner license in California
Proven experience in general medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, or related fields
Strong assessment skills, including interview and physical evaluation experience
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Reliable travel to designated locations within specified radius distances
Nice to Have Skills:
Prior experience with Compensation & Pension examinations or military/VA healthcare
Background in orthopedic or musculoskeletal assessments
Familiarity with government or veterans’ healthcare systems
Additional certifications related to veteran health assessment
Preferred Education and Experience:
Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
Minimum of 2 years of clinical practice as a Nurse Practitioner
Prior experience conducting assessments for veterans or within a government contract setting is advantageous
Other Requirements:
Own a private office location (where specified) or reside within the required radius zones for outreach locations
Travel reimbursement included in pay rate where applicable
Ability to complete all required credentialing and onboarding promptly
No prescribing or treatment responsibilities, focusing solely on assessments and reporting
Compensation & Benefits:
Hourly Pay Rate: $402.00
Competitive pay packages with weekly direct deposit payments
