Veterans Evaluation Services (VES), a Maximus company and trusted government contractor, is actively recruiting skilled providers to perform Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments nationwide. In this vital role, you will conduct interview-based assessments, including physical evaluations such as range of motion and muscle strength testing, without the need for prescribing or treatment. The work supports our Veterans' healthcare and benefits determination processes, offering a rewarding experience in a collaborative environment. This position provides quick credentialing, onboarding, and flexible work options, making it ideal for experienced general medicine providers.
Required Skills:
Current license as a Nurse Practitioner or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
Proven experience in general medicine, internal medicine, family medicine, or orthopedic surgery
Ability to perform brief interview-based assessments and physical evaluations
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
Comfortable working independently across various community-based settings
Nice to Have Skills:
Prior experience with Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams
Knowledge of veterans' healthcare evaluations or military medical assessments
Experience in telehealth or remote assessment environments
Preferred Education and Experience:
Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing (MSN, DNP)
At least 2 years of clinical experience in primary or internal medicine
Previous certification in military or veteran healthcare evaluations (preferred but not required)
Other Requirements:
Local candidates only; travel is included in the pay rate
Ability to attend brief training sessions and complete administrative follow-up work
Willingness to work on a PRN basis, including half-days (4 hours) or full days (8 hours)
Familiarity with documentation submission and report writing
Compensation:
$402 per hour
Half-day rate: $600 (flat rate for 4-hour shifts or less)
Full-day rate: $1200 (flat rate for 5-hour shifts or longer)
One-time bonus of $650 upon completing initial training and first exams
