Our organization is actively recruiting dedicated Locum Nurse Practitioners specializing in General Medicine to perform critical Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments nationwide. This role offers a unique chance to make a difference in the lives of veterans while enjoying flexible scheduling and competitive pay.
In this role, you will conduct interview-based examinations and physical assessments, including range of motion and muscle strength testing, in a non-treatment capacity. Candidates must have their own office location within the specified radius, with appointments scheduled based on regional needs, primarily on a PRN basis with ongoing opportunities. You will be responsible for completing exams efficiently, submitting comprehensive reports, and managing follow-up administrative work such as addendums and medical opinions.
Required Skills:
Current Nurse Practitioner license in relevant state(s)
Background in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or related general medicine specialty
Experience with compensation and pension evaluations preferred
Strong interview and physical assessment skills
Excellent communication abilities and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and adhere to clinical guidelines
Nice to Have Skills:
Prior experience with veterans' healthcare assessments
Knowledge of disability evaluation procedures
Certification in specific diagnostic or assessment tools
Familiarity with telehealth platforms and electronic medical records
Preferred Education and Experience:
Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing (MSN or DNP)
Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner, preferably in general medicine
Prior experience with compensation and pension exams is a plus
Other Requirements:
Must own and operate a private office within designated regional radius
Reliable internet access and administrative support for report submission
Willingness to work flexible hours, including half and full-day shifts
Travel reimbursement included within pay rates

Hourly Pay Rate: Half-day (4 hours or less): $600 | Full-day (5 hours or more): $1200 | One-time Bonus: $650 upon completing training and first exams
