We are seeking a dedicated and professional Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) with a specialization in Behavioral Health, or a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), to join our team as a permanent employee. The ideal candidate will provide essential clinical support within a behavioral health setting, ensuring high-quality patient care through a combination of technical expertise and compassionate service.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform clinical procedures such as blood draws, injections, child immunizations, and relevant lab tests within the scope of medical assistant certification or LPN licensure.
Assist physicians during examinations, including measuring blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration.
Ensure examination rooms are clean, well-stocked, and operational at all times.
Manage patient communication by returning phone calls, providing instructions as directed by the physician, and addressing patient questions with professionalism.
Maintain accurate and complete medical records, including referral forms, lab slips, and other necessary documentation.
Assist patients in navigating exam rooms and prepare them for procedures, ensuring a smooth clinical workflow.
Support nursing procedures and tasks as directed by the physician.
Collaborate effectively with team members and adapt to varying responsibilities to meet the needs of the practice.
Uphold confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling patient information and practice management matters.
Represent the professional standards of the office through personal appearance and attitude, demonstrating neatness, cleanliness, and a caring, calm demeanor.
Qualifications and Certifications:
Valid BLS (AHA) certification required.
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification or equivalent.
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license preferred; applications from both CMA and LPN candidates are encouraged.
Prior experience in behavioral health or primary care is a plus.
Personal qualities include professionalism, a compassionate nature, emotional stability, and the ability to work effectively under stress.
