Temp - Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Long Term Care (LTC)

Are you a dedicated Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) seeking a rewarding opportunity in long-term care? In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring residents' mental and physical well-being, administering medications and treatments as prescribed, supervising nursing assistants, and participating in resident rounds with physicians. You will ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, accurately document care in electronic systems, and communicate effectively with residents' families and healthcare team members. The position demands attention to detail, strong clinical skills, and the ability to adapt to a rural environment, as transportation is a requirement due to the facility’s remote location.

Required Skills:
  • Valid LVN or LPN license
  • Current CPR certification
  • Experience in long-term care or geriatrics preferred
  • Ability to follow physician orders and document accurately
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to supervise CNA staff in accordance with licensing regulations
  • Attention to infection control, safety procedures, and medication administration protocols

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Experience with wound care, including wound vacs
  • Knowledge of electronic medical records systems
  • Ability to assist with resident orientation and staff training
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards in LTC settings

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification
  • At least 1 year of clinical experience, particularly in long-term care or similar environments
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience in a healthcare setting is advantageous

Other Requirements:
  • Own reliable transportation due to rural location and limited public transit options
  • Willingness to work in a rural setting approximately 2 hours from Boston, MA
  • Ability to work flexible shifts as scheduled
  • Must adhere to all federal, state, and local health and safety regulations
  • Availability to participate in staff meetings and ongoing training sessions
