Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures.
  • Operate within a multidisciplinary team including IR attendings, IR Fellows, and Radiology Residents.
  • Manage workloads independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating clinical competence from day one.
  • Handle consciousness sedation, telemetry monitoring, and circulator duties during procedures.
  • Contribute to patient safety protocols and ensure adherence to all relevant standards.
  • Participate in emergency and float team assignments as needed, including emergency events and float coverage within the unit.
  • Maintain accurate documentation within Epic Electronic Medical Records.
  • Support pediatric and infant patients when applicable, with experience preferred but not mandatory.

Required Skills:
  • Proven circulator experience in an IR or similar setting.
  • Strong understanding of conscious sedation and telemetry monitoring.
  • Ability to handle a high-volume workload efficiently.
  • Excellent critical thinking and clinical judgment.
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Experience in Level 1 trauma, Neuro IR, ICU, ED, or Step Down units.
  • Scrub experience in IR or surgical settings.
  • Pediatric and infant care exposure.
  • Additional certifications such as CPI, NIH, or PALS.

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Active RN license.
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent IR or procedural nursing experience.
  • Epic EMR experience required.
  • Travel experience preferred; prior first-time travelers are not considered for this role.

Other Requirements:
  • Shift: Day shift, three 12-hour shifts (06:00 - 18:30) with weekend rotation.
  • Overnight call rotation required.
  • Must be capable of handling workload independently and adapt to emergency team assignments as necessary.
  • No first-time travelers preferred.
  • Compensation: $70.35 per hour.
  • Licensure, certifications, travel reimbursements, and other benefits included.
