Join Our Team as an Internal Medicine Physician Specialized in Hematology and Oncology
Are you passionate about providing exceptional care to patients facing hematologic and oncologic conditions? We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Internal Medicine - Hematology and Oncology specialist to join our distinguished, accredited cancer center. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a state-of-the-art facility while enjoying competitive compensation and comprehensive support.
In this role, you will be integral to delivering high-quality, compassionate care within a dedicated 18-bed chemotherapy suite housed alongside radiation oncology. Your expertise will contribute to weekly tumor board discussions, participation in clinical trials, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team including pharmacists, nurses, and medical assistants. The position offers flexible scheduling with many available dates in 2026, including full coverage five days a week, with some weekend call responsibilities.
Required Skills:
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine with subspecialization in Hematology and Oncology
Valid medical license in the state
Experience managing chemotherapy patients and familiarity with oncology protocols
Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
Ability to handle complex patient cases with empathy and professionalism
Nice to Have Skills:
Prior experience in a COC-accredited cancer center
Familiarity with EMR systems, specifically Mosiaq
Experience participating in clinical trials, including 2s and 3s
Ability to provide patient education and support beyond clinical care
Preferred Education and Experience:
Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
Minimum of 2 years of oncology and hematology practice experience preferred
Current board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine with subspecialty certification in Hematology and Oncology
Other Requirements:
Availability for scheduled hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday
Participation in 24-hour weekend call, sharing responsibilities with other employed providers
Ability to respond to patient inquiries, chemotherapy coordination, and consults from Emergency Department as needed
Ability to travel for licensure, certification, and training reimbursement when applicable
