Hematology/Oncology Physician

Join a leading healthcare institution as a Hematology/Oncology Physician, providing expert care at the forefront of cancer treatment and malignant hematology. This critical role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic multidisciplinary team, supporting patients in inpatient and infusion settings, and making a meaningful difference in their lives.

In this role, you will deliver comprehensive hematology and oncology care, including malignant hematology procedures, participating in inpatient management, and responding to call responsibilities. You will utilize advanced clinical skills to support a diverse patient population, with an impressive volume of 30-40 shared patients daily. The position involves working at Abbott Northwestern and Allina Health Cancer Institute in Minneapolis, with a focus on delivering high-quality, compassionate care.

Required Skills:
  • Board certification in Hematology and Oncology
  • Valid Minnesota medical license (IMLC accepted)
  • DEA certification
  • BLS certification
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience
  • Proficiency in managing malignant hematology and infusion procedures
  • Strong inpatient skills and ability to handle call responsibilities
  • Experience with EMR systems, specifically Epic

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Experience working in a hospital-based setting
  • Familiarity with outpatient infusion center operations
  • Additional certifications in cancer care or related specialties
  • Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary team efforts

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Medical degree from an accredited institution
  • Board-certified Hematology/Oncology specialist
  • At least 2 years of post-residency experience in a similar clinical environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team

Other Requirements:
  • Availability to start immediately or within 90-120 days depending on credentialing
  • Ability to obtain emergency privileges if needed
  • Willingness to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with on-call responsibilities
  • Must support full-time coverage with approximately 20-23 patients per day
  • No APP support during weekends and on-call hours
  • Shift length of 8 hours, with scheduled and on-call duties
