What You’ll Do
Prepare patients and operative areas, maintaining strict sterile technique
Assist in visualizing the operative field during surgeries
Under surgeon supervision, harvest saphenous veins for cardiac grafting
Assist with closure of body planes and apply wound dressings
Support the surgical team in cardiac and general surgical procedures
Adapt communication and interaction to suit patient-specific needs
Follow hospital policies and ensure compliance with safety standards
What You Need
Required:
Certified by an accredited Surgical First Assistant program
Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
Minimum 5 years OR experience, with at least 3 in cardiac surgery
Proficiency in suturing and saphenous vein harvesting
Strong judgment, communication skills, and technical dexterity
Preferred:
Experience with Terumo devices
Certified in Endoscopic Saphenous Vein Harvesting
