Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate EEG Technician to assist neurologists and neurotechnologists in performing electroencephalograms (EEGs) and related clinical procedures. Your expertise will directly impact accurate diagnosis and patient outcomes, making your role essential within our neurophysiology department. This is an excellent short-term opportunity to gain hands-on experience, work in a collaborative team, and support neurological health.
Required Skills
Strong understanding of neurology and electroencephalography procedures
Ability to explain testing procedures clearly to patients and families
Knowledge of equipment maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting
Skill in obtaining accurate patient histories and preparing patients for testing
Capable of recognizing and managing artifacts during EEG procedures
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to respond appropriately to patient emergencies and infection control protocols
Familiarity with medication effects on EEG results
Nice to Have Skills
Experience assisting with EMGs and NCVs
Previous work in a clinical neurophysiology setting
Knowledge of medical documentation and reporting software
Bilingual abilities to assist diverse patient populations
Preferred Education and Experience
Certification as an EEG Technician (e.g., CAAHEP or ARDMS) preferred
Prior clinical EEG experience preferred but not mandatory
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training in neurodiagnostics is a plus
Other Requirements
Ability to commit to a scheduled daytime shift
Willingness to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Verification of licensure and certifications if applicable
Ability to travel or relocate as needed for the assignment
