Job Description


Certified Medical Assistant - ABH - Pennsylvania

Join our dynamic mental health walk-in clinic as a Certified Medical Assistant and make a meaningful difference in patient care. This vital role involves conducting intake interviews, completing assessments with clients, and providing vital support to nursing staff by taking vitals and assisting with nursing evaluations. If you are dedicated, compassionate, and eager to contribute to mental health services, this position offers an excellent opportunity to grow and develop your skills in a supportive environment.

Required Skills:
  • Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) recognized in Pennsylvania
  • Proven experience in clinical settings, especially in mental health or walk-in clinics
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities to interact effectively with diverse patients
  • Ability to accurately perform and document vitals and nursing assessments
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations, patient confidentiality, and infection control protocols
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Experience working in mental health facilities
  • Basic knowledge of psychiatric terminology
  • Bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish or other languages)
  • Additional certifications such as CPR, BLS, or First Aid

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program
  • At least 1-2 years of relevant clinical experience, preferably in mental health or urgent care settings

Other Requirements:
  • Must hold current licensure or certification as a Medical Assistant in Pennsylvania
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment with flexibility for occasional scheduling adjustments
  • Commitment to patient confidentiality and delivering compassionate care
  • Ability to support the nursing team with clinical tasks as needed
  • Note: This is a temporary position with potential for extension or permanent placement based on performance
