As a Travel RN in Critical Care, you will provide advanced, routine, and complex patient care in a fast-paced ICU environment, supporting a diverse range of critically ill patients. Your clinical judgment and collaborative spirit will be instrumental in delivering exceptional outcomes while enjoying the flexibility and adventure of travel nursing.
Required Skills:
Several years of ICU experience with proficiency in clinical judgment and advanced patient management
Strong knowledge of critical care protocols for conditions such as DKA, STEMIs, strokes, ARDS, MODS, CHF exacerbation, COPD exacerbation, renal failure, liver failure, and mechanical support devices (IABP, Impellas)
Demonstrated ability to work independently while providing comprehensive assessments and interventions
Excellent documentation skills using EPIC EHR, Pyxis, and Excel for scheduling
Proven competence in medication administration, patient education, and family communication
Valid RN license in Texas or a compact state
Current BLS, NIHSS, and ACLS certifications
Nice to Have Skills:
Experience with long-range care planning and clinical inquiry
Familiarity with diversity responsiveness and systems thinking
Advanced skills in collaboration and advocacy within multidisciplinary teams
Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Minimum of one year of critical care nursing experience
Other Requirements:
Availability to work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
Ability to adapt quickly to high-complexity caseloads
Must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire
Ability to manage contingencies, delegate appropriately, and prioritize safety
