Position Overview
As a Travel RN in the Emergency Room, you will be a vital part of a dynamic healthcare environment, delivering urgent, complex, and routine patient care for adult and pediatric populations. You will practice independently within a high-stakes setting, demonstrating expert clinical judgment and leadership. Your role will involve assessing patient needs, administering treatments, educating families, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes. Your expertise will help manage critical cases such as stroke, STEMI, trauma, and resuscitations, contributing to a hospital renowned for its regional cardiac care and high patient acuity.
Required Skills
Valid RN license in Texas or a compact state
Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications (all from AHA)
Minimum of 1 year of relevant ER nursing experience preferred
Strong assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
Ability to work independently and handle high-pressure situations effectively
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Nice to Have Skills
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Experience in trauma, stroke, STEMI, or resuscitation settings
Previous travel nursing experience
Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Education and Experience
BSN degree strongly preferred
At least 1 year of ER or high-acuity nursing experience in a regional hospital setting
Other Requirements
Must attend New Nurse Orientation within 30 days of hire
Successful completion of initial competency validations and annual re-competencies
Certification in specific specialties such as TNCC required upon hiring
Availability for 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, scheduled three days per week starting 01/12/2026
Willingness to travel and work in a high-demand, high-acuity environment
This position offers a competitive hourly pay rate of $50.25, weekly pay via direct deposit, comprehensive medical benefits, and a generous referral bonus program.
