Are you a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse ready to make a difference in a high-stakes surgical environment? We are seeking a dynamic OR/Surgical RN to join our travel healthcare team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to provide top-tier patient care across diverse clinical settings, enhancing your expertise while enjoying the flexibility and adventure of travel nursing.
Key Responsibilities:
Independently provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care in line with ANA standards.
Perform assessments, develop care plans, and execute interventions for surgical patients.
Monitor patient response to medications and treatments, adjusting care as necessary.
Educate patients and families about procedures, recovery, and health maintenance.
Collaborate effectively with surgical teams and delegate tasks to support staff.
Document all patient interactions accurately and in compliance with hospital protocols.
Demonstrate leadership qualities, including accountability, professionalism, and adaptability in high-pressure situations.
Required Skills:
Valid RN license in Texas or a compact state.
Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, infection control, and patient safety.
Excellent critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple complex cases.
Nice to Have Skills:
Previous experience in operating room or surgical nursing.
Certification in perioperative nursing (CNOR) or specialty certifications.
Familiarity with electronic medical records and surgical protocols.
Ability to adapt quickly to changing environments and workflows.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) strongly preferred.
At least one year of experience in surgical or perioperative nursing.
Previous travel nursing experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
Other Requirements:
This is a full-time travel position with a 10-hour shift, four days per week, from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
Travel and accommodation arrangements are provided; reliable transportation is necessary.
Must be willing to travel to various clinical sites as assigned.
