Overview:
As a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) on our team, you will be entrusted with delivering comprehensive pulmonary care under physician supervision. Your expertise ensures the safety and well-being of critically ill and chronically ill patients through assessments, technical procedures, and respiratory therapy interventions. This role provides an excellent opportunity for professional growth in a fast-paced hospital setting, supporting patient recovery and outcomes through advanced respiratory management.

Required Skills:
  • Valid RT or RCP license in the state of employment
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from NBRC
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA
  • 1-3 years of experience in respiratory therapy preferred
  • Proficiency in airway management, ventilator setup and operation, aerosolized medication delivery, and airway support devices (BiPAP, CPAP)
  • Strong patient assessment and documentation skills
  • Ability to respond quickly to emergency situations, including Code Blue/White events
  • Effective teamwork and communication capabilities

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Experience with therapeutic gas management (e.g., INO, HeO2)
  • Pulmonary Function Testing and polysomnography
  • Bronchoscopy assistance and hemodynamic monitoring
  • Waveform analysis and nocturnal SpO2 evaluation
  • Participation in CAP and JC surveys
  • Leadership or team lead experience in respiratory care

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy, Nursing, or relevant healthcare field
  • 1-3 years of clinical experience in a hospital setting, ideally with critical care exposure

Other Requirements:
  • Must hold current licensure and certifications, obtained within required timeframes as per CHRISTUS Health policies
  • Willingness to work a 12-hour day shift from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM, including rotating weekends
  • Ability to travel and adapt to various hospital environments
