Are you a dedicated Registered Nurse looking for an exciting opportunity to advance your skills while exploring new locations? We are seeking a highly competent Travel RN to provide exceptional care in our Telemetry and MedSurg Intermediate Care units. This full-time position offers the chance to work in a dynamic healthcare environment, delivering vital patient services during night shifts, and making a meaningful impact on patient outcomes.
What You’ll Do:
Provide comprehensive nursing care independently, demonstrating proficiency in clinical assessments, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families with professionalism and compassion.
Administer medications and treatments following established protocols, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
Document all patient interactions accurately to maintain high standards of care and regulatory compliance.
Educate patients and their families, ensuring understanding of health conditions, treatments, and discharge plans.
Collaborate with healthcare teams and delegate tasks appropriately, contributing to a safe and efficient clinical environment.
Adapt to different units and float to CHRISTUS Longview based on census needs, demonstrating flexibility and versatility.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
Current RN license in Texas or a compact state.
BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association.
At least 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.
Ability to work independently with confidence and professionalism.
Strong communication and critical thinking skills.
Nice to Have Skills & Additional Qualifications:
Experience in telemetry, MedSurg, or intermediate care units.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (preferred).
Previous experience working with diverse patient populations and complex care needs.
Preferred Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is preferred.
Minimum of 1 year of relevant nursing experience.
Other Requirements:
Shifts run from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM on a 12-hour schedule.
This position involves travel; candidates must be open to relocating as needed.
New nurses will attend orientation within the first 30 days and complete competency validations.
Certification renewal and annual competency requirements must be maintained.
Compensation and Benefits:
Hourly Pay Rate: $46.90
Competitive pay for night shift; no on-call responsibilities, with occasional standby duties.
