Embark on an exciting travel opportunity as a First Assist RN specializing in cardiovascular and venous enormity procedures. As a critical member of our perioperative team, you will collaborate directly with surgeons and healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care during complex surgical interventions. Your expertise in CVOR and EVH procedures will make a tangible difference in patient outcomes, offering you a rewarding and dynamic work environment.
What You Bring:
Minimum of 5 years OR experience, including both scrubbing and circulating roles
Proficiency and comfort in circulating, scrubbing, and first assist responsibilities within CVOR and EVH environments
Demonstrated competence in sterile technique, instrument handling, tissue exposure, hemostasis, and suturing
Strong understanding of aseptic practices, patient safety, and intraoperative protocols
Ability to manage surgical equipment, supplies, and patient positioning with precision
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative attitude
Experience with high-risk equipment such as electrosurgical units, lasers, and specialized technology
Additional Skills That Are a Plus:
Previous experience with the RNFA role, including knowledge of surgical assisting techniques
Familiarity with sterilization processes and inventory management
Certification in CNOR and current ACLS/BLS credentials
Experience working in a fast-paced surgical setting, especially in CVOR and EVH procedures
Preferred Education & Experience:
Completion of an accredited RNFA program meeting AORN standards, accepted by the CCI
Active RN license in Texas or a compact state
Valid BLS and ACLS certifications
Prior OR experience specifically in cardiovascular or venous surgery
Other Requirements:
Credentialing process with CHRISTUS, which may take up to 90 days before the assignment begins
Must be willing to travel and adapt to varied surgical schedules and environments
Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to hospital policies
Compensation & Benefits:
Hourly Pay Rate: $67.00
Shift: Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM (VMS shift: 6:30-15:00)
8-hour shifts with full-time hours
