Psychologist - Clinical

This yearlong opportunity at the Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command New England in Groton, CT, is essential for supporting post-deployment psychological assessments and treatment. Required Skills:
  • Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA-accredited program.
  • Valid, unrestricted license to practice psychology in any U.S. state or territory.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of full-time experience working with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) patients within the last two years.
  • Successful completion of an APA-accredited psychology internship/residency.
  • Demonstrated competency in clinical assessment and intervention, particularly in military or veteran populations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Experience working in military or trauma-related psychological care.
  • Knowledge of Post Deployment Re-Assessment (PDHRA) processes.
  • Certification in trauma-focused therapies or related specialties.
  • Bilingual abilities or additional language proficiency.

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) from an accredited institution.
  • At least one (1) year of recent, relevant clinical experience with PTSD populations.
  • Proven track record of working within military health systems or similar high-pressure environments.

Other Requirements:
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday, 6:30 am to 5:00 pm, with specific scheduling provided one month in advance.
  • Willingness to commit to a full year (August 26, 2024, to August 25, 2025), with the possibility of extension through September 30, 2027.
  • Ability to travel or receive reimbursements if applicable.
  • Clear background check and eligibility to obtain any necessary security or credentialing clearances.
