Overview
We are seeking a skilled Internal Medicine - Gastroenterologist to support our hospitals' GI coverage, particularly during times of staffing shortages. The successful candidate will be integral to maintaining continuous care by providing both call coverage and outpatient services. This full-time equivalent role offers flexible coverage options, including on-call responsibilities and clinic hours, ensuring comprehensive patient management and improved healthcare delivery.
Required Skills
Board Certification in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology or equivalent; valid medical license.
Proven experience in hospital-based gastroenterology care.
Strong diagnostic and procedural skills in GI medicine.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient interactions and team collaboration.
Ability to manage urgent and routine GI cases efficiently.
Knowledge of hospital protocols, documentation, and compliance standards.
Nice to Have Skills
Experience with endoscopy procedures.
Ability to work efficiently in a multi-hospital environment.
Familiarity with EHR systems and healthcare technology.
Bilingual skills to serve diverse patient populations.
Preferred Education and Experience
MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
At least 2 years of post-residency or post-fellowship clinical experience in hospital gastroenterology.
Previous experience in hospital call coverage and outpatient clinics.
Other Requirements
Availability for coverage starting January 6, 2026.
Willingness to travel between hospitals as needed during shifts.
All necessary licenses, certifications, and compliance with Employee Health requirements.
Coverage during both weekday and weekend shifts, including full call on the specified scenarios.
All-inclusive hourly pay rate: $1.00.
