Temp – Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) – Long Term Care (LTC) (Days) – Oregon, MO
Are you a dedicated Speech and Language Pathologist looking to make a meaningful impact in a long-term care setting? What You’ll Do:
Effectively screen, evaluate, and rehabilitate patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing challenges, creating tailored plans of care aligned with regulatory standards.
Utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based practices to guide clinical interventions.
Monitor patient progress, adjusting treatments as needed and documenting outcomes accurately in compliance with all regulations.
Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members to support optimal patient recovery.
Communicate openly with supervisors and healthcare teams regarding patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans.
Prepare comprehensive discharge summaries and maintain detailed patient records within electronic systems.
Participate actively in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities.
Support and supervise CFY or student Speech-Language Pathologists to foster professional growth.
Required Skills:
Valid ASHA certification and state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
Strong knowledge of evaluation and treatment of speech, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Ability to document accurately and manage electronic health records.
Commitment to adhering to professional ethics, practice acts, and standards of care.
Nice to Have Skills:
Experience working in a long-term care or geriatric setting.
Bilingual abilities to serve diverse patient populations.
Familiarity with DME procurement and supplies management.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
Prior experience in a clinical or long-term care environment, especially with adult populations.
Active ASHA membership and state licensure.
Other Requirements:
Ability to travel within the facility as needed.
Willingness to participate in ongoing training, in-services, and meetings.
Engagement in professional development and adherence to ethical standards.
