Job Title:
Surgical Technologist (CVOR) - Wellstar Kennestone Regional Medical Center

Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Surgical Technologist (CVOR) to join the world-class team at Wellstar Kennestone Regional Medical Center. Required Skills:
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification or equivalent
  • Ability to perform duties reliably within moderate to high acuity surgical cases
  • Strong knowledge of surgical equipment, instrumentation, and anatomy
  • Proficiency in sterile techniques and asepsis
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to troubleshoot instruments and anticipate surgeon needs
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Experience with cardiovascular and thoracic (CVOR) procedures
  • Mentor or training experience for students or new staff
  • Knowledge of inventory management and supply replenishment
  • Ability to assist with equipment sterilization and preoperative setup

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • High School diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or certification from a community college or technical school preferred
  • Previous surgical technologist experience, especially in CVOR or high-acuity settings, is highly desirable
  • Certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or National Center for Competency Testing

Other Requirements:
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Instructor certification preferred
  • Willingness to work day shifts, including 3x12-hour shifts, with potential for late calls and weekend coverage
  • Ability to start on 01/06/2025
  • Compliance with all organizational policies, regulatory standards, and safety protocols
  • Additional reimbursements for licensure, certification, travel, and other approved expenses
