Job Title: Instrument Technician
Join our dynamic team as an Instrument Technician and play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of surgical care. Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, sterilize, and maintain surgical instruments in accordance with hospital protocols and safety standards.
Assist surgical teams during procedures by providing sterile instruments and ensuring instrument availability.
Conduct routine inspections and troubleshoot instrument issues to ensure functionality.
Maintain accurate documentation of instrument usage, sterilization cycles, and maintenance logs.
Collaborate with surgical and biomedical staff to uphold infection control standards and equipment safety.
Required Skills:
Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience as an Instrument Technician or in a similar role within a surgical or medical environment.
Proficiency in sterilization techniques, instrument handling, and surgical procedures.
Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team and within a fast-paced environment.
Nice to Have Skills:
Experience with surgical instrumentation specific to different specialties.
Certification in Central Service or Sterile Processing.
Knowledge of electronic medical records and inventory management systems.
Prior experience working in outpatient surgical centers.
Preferred Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or training in sterile processing preferred.
At least 2 years of relevant experience in a surgical or sterile processing environment.
Other Requirements:
Flexibility to work scheduled hours from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
Ability to travel if required for specialized procedures or training.
Willingness to adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
No local candidates within 50 miles; candidates must be prepared to commute or relocate as needed.
