Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Telemetry Position Type: Full-Time Shift Schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Night Shift) Schedule Details: Every third weekend (Saturday and Sunday), holiday coverage required Location: Olathe, KS (Facility: The University of Kansas Health System)
Position Overview:
Join a dynamic cardiac care team specializing in the management of acute cardiac patients, post-invasive procedures, and complex medical conditions such as chest pain, COVID-19, sepsis, alcohol withdrawal, and cardiac medication initiation and titration. As a Telemetry RN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care within a comprehensive cardiac unit.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms using GE heart monitors and other advanced vital sign machinery.
Administer medications and interventions in accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
Respond rapidly to patient changes and emergencies, demonstrating critical thinking and clinical judgment.
Document patient assessments, interventions, and progress accurately and timely.
Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and their families.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, including ACLS and BLS certifications.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) acceptable with a commitment to obtain BSN within five years of hire.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of hospital RN experience, preferably within a cardiac or acute care setting.
Certifications: Current ACLS and BLS certifications are mandatory.
Specialized Skills: Experience with TR band and cardiac monitoring equipment is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
Compensation & Benefits:
Competitive salary range: $33 - $40 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
Shift differentials: Evening ($3.50), Night ($5.00), and Weekend ($2.25) pay premiums.

Additional Information:
No travel or on-call duties required.
Patient census averages 45 beds across three units with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5.
Advanced equipment on the units includes GE heart monitors, Masimo vital sign machines, and Stryker beds.
