Overview:
Join a dynamic team providing specialized care to adult cardiac patients in a high-acuity, inpatient setting. Our telemetry units focus on post-invasive cardiac procedures, chest pain management, and treating acute illnesses such as sepsis, COVID-19 complications, alcohol withdrawal, and arrhythmia management. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop advanced cardiac nursing skills within a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult cardiac patients, ensuring safety, comfort, and effective treatment adherence.
Monitor continuous cardiac telemetry, interpret complex rhythm strips, and respond promptly to arrhythmias or changes in patient condition.
Administer medications and solutions with precision, including titration of medications like Tikosyn and Sotalol.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and modify patient care plans.
Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in electronic medical records.
Educate patients and families regarding condition management, medication adherence, and post-discharge care.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with a commitment to obtain a BSN within five years of hire.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of recent hospital nursing experience, ideally within an acute care setting.
Licensure: Valid Kansas Registered Nurse license.
Certifications: Current ACLS and BLS certification required. Experience with TR Band is necessary.
Preferred: BSN degree, experience in telemetry or cardiac units.

Additional Details:
Staffing model includes a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5, with 1-2 patient care techs per unit depending on census and acuity.
Unit equipped with GE heart monitors, Masimo vital sign monitors, and Stryker beds to ensure optimal patient care.
