Are you a dedicated and experienced General Medicine Physician seeking flexible, impactful work serving our nation's Veterans? VHS is actively recruiting motivated providers to deliver vital Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments across Missouri. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a meaningful cause while enjoying flexible scheduling and competitive compensation.
In this role, you will conduct interview-based assessments and physical examinations, including range of motion and muscle strength testing, without prescribing or providing treatment. The position offers the flexibility of PRN scheduling, with opportunities for half-day or full-day shifts, on a nationwide basis, utilizing your own office within a 50-mile radius of your location. Compensation is structured with flat rates—$800 for 4 hours or less, $1600 for 5 or more hours—with a one-time bonus of $650 upon completing training and your first exams.
Key responsibilities include performing non-treatment exams, preparing reports, and handling follow-up administrative tasks such as addendums and diagnostics readings. The role requires quick credentialing and onboarding, making it ideal for practitioners with backgrounds in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or related general medicine fields with experience in compensation and pension evaluations.
Necessary skills include strong assessment capabilities, excellent communication, attention to detail, and ability to work independently. Candidates must own their own office within the specified regions and be willing to work PRN, ongoing basis. Additional advantages include familiarity with veteran-focused evaluations, prior experience in compensation and pension assessments, and a proactive, patient-centered approach.
Preferred qualifications encompass board certification or licensure in primary care specialties, previous experience with veteran health evaluations, and availability across designated locations in Missouri. Candidates should have valid licensure, necessary certifications, and be willing to travel as needed. Reimbursements for licensure, certifications, and travel are available when applicable.
