VHS is looking for a qualified Physician - Pediatric.

Shift: 8 Hours Day shift
Description: Child Abuse Intervention Department CAID
• Could be in person or virtual
• 4/5 inpatients/month
• 10-15 clinic patients/month
• 1-2 patients per day in the ED
• Possible weekend call but we would need to look at what that looks like and the cost
• Clinic is located on the Mary Bridge Tacoma Campus
• Coverage could be covered with multiple physicians
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Child abuse Physician to provide expert consultation and clinical guidance in cases involving suspected child abuse. The Child Abuse Physician will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including nurse practitioners social workers and other child abuse experts to deliver timely high-quality consultations and support in child abuse assessments.
• Provide expert consultation to healthcare providers social services and law enforcement on cases of suspected child abuse and neglect.
• Inpatient support including but not excluded to the Emergency Room Inpatient Services and Trauma for suspected abuse.
• Review medical records imaging and other relevant documentation to assess cases and provide guidance on next steps in child abuse evaluations
• Supervise Child Abuse Nurse Practitioners
• Support education initiatives for healthcare providers within our network to improve early identification documentation and management of suspected child abuse cases.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives within CAID
• MD/DO with board certification in Pediatrics and subspecialty training in Child Abuse Pediatrics preferred
• Licensed to practice medicine in Washington
• Experience in Child Abuse pediatrics with strong knowledge of child protection protocols trauma informed care and related legal processes
BC in Child Abuse highly preferred but not required
