VHS is looking for an OB/GYN Hospitalist for San Antonio, TX!
Program Details 
  • OB/GYNs to Provide GYN Coverage: Yes, but limited
  • OB/GYNs Required to Perform Circumcisions: No
  • OB/GYNs Needed for First Assist: Yes
  • Hospitalists to Backup Midwives: No
  • Hospitalist to Backup Family Practice: No
  • Backup Available to the Hospitalists: Yes
Program Objectives:
  • Provide L&D support to ensure consistent high-quality care.
  • Expand access to care for women in the community.
  • Implement and improve the quality and safety of patient care.
  • Opportunity to increase GYN surgeries

  • Total Hospital Deliveries (monthly avg.): 31
  • Total Hospital Deliveries (annual avg.): 372
  • Estimated Ob Hospitalist Deliveries (monthly avg.): 16
  • Estimated Ob Hospitalist Deliveries (annual avg.): 192
  • Estimated Patient Encounters (per shift): 3
  • 9 Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum (LDRP) rooms
  • 7 Postpartum rooms, 2 dedicated to C-section suites
  • NICU – Level 1 (8 beds)
  • Ob Emergency Department
  • Anesthesia: On-sight 24/7
  • MFM: No, available for consults
  • Residency Program: No
  • EMR used in Hospital: Cerner
