MRI Technologist (Perm, Days) – Brattleboro, VT

Location: 17 Belmont Avenue, Brattleboro, VT 05301
Department: Radiology
Shift: Day Shift (Hours to be specified)
Salary: Competitive, with a median of $104,601 annually (dependent on experience)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated MRI Technologist to join the Radiology Department at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital. Under the supervision of the Director of Radiology and the Medical Director, the MRI Technologist will perform a variety of MRI procedures independently, ensuring accurate imaging and optimal patient care. This role requires a strong understanding of MRI technology, safety protocols, and patient management, with the ability to work autonomously and exercise sound judgment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform high-quality MRI scans across a range of clinical indications, adhering to physician orders and department protocols.
  • Prepare patients for procedures by explaining processes, ensuring comfort, and maintaining safety throughout.
  • Position patients accurately to obtain optimal imaging results while minimizing discomfort.
  • Operate MRI equipment safely, following established safety standards and protocols to protect patients and staff from harmful exposure.
  • Review imaging for quality assurance, making necessary adjustments to improve image clarity and diagnostic value.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare team members to ensure timely and accurate diagnosis.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of procedures, patient data, and equipment usage to support quality control and compliance.
  • Conduct routine equipment checks, basic maintenance, and troubleshoot technical issues as needed.
  • Stay updated on advances in MRI technology, safety procedures, and best practices through continuing education.

Qualifications:
  • ARRT Certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is required.
  • Valid State of Vermont licensure (or eligibility) as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • Proven experience performing MRI procedures with demonstrated technical proficiency.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of MRI safety protocols and patient care standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
