In this position, you will perform Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments, primarily interview-based with some physical testing, to support critical government initiatives. You will have the flexibility to choose your schedule, working either half days or full days, with support from a dedicated team that values your expertise.
Required Skills:
MD or DO license in good standing
Proven experience in general medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, or orthopedics
Strong clinical assessment skills including physical examination and range of motion testing
Excellent communication abilities to conduct interview-based assessments
Ability to work independently and efficiently manage documentation and reporting
Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and compliance
Nice to Have Skills:
Prior experience with Compensation & Pension exams or Veterans Affairs assessments
Familiarity with medical reporting documentation
Background in telemedicine or remote assessments
Additional certifications relevant to general medicine or veteran health services
Preferred Education and Experience:
MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in related specialties
Prior experience with government or military health assessments preferred but not required
Other Requirements:
Local candidates only; travel expenses included in the pay rate
Ability to perform physical assessments including range of motion and muscle strength testing
Ability to complete exams and submit reports promptly within scheduled shifts
Successful onboarding with quick credentialing process
Availability to perform exams both on-site (at your office location) and on scheduled days (e.g., one day per week in Pierre, SD, as needed)
Competitive hourly pay rate: $800 for half-day (up to 4 hours) shifts; $1,600 for full-day (5 hours or more) shifts. Additionally, a one-time bonus of $650 is offered for completing all training requirements and your first exams. Benefits include weekly pay via direct deposit, comprehensive medical coverage (W-2), paid sick leave, and reimbursements for licensure, certifications, travel, and other approved expenses.
