Join Our Team as a Locum Physician - General Medicine NY
Elevate your medical career by providing vital services to our nation's Veterans through an exciting opportunity as a Locum Physician specializing in General Medicine. This role offers flexible, part-time engagements across New York State, allowing you to make a meaningful impact while maintaining a balanced professional schedule. Utilize your expertise in family medicine, internal medicine, or related fields to perform essential Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments, supporting our veterans' well-being and benefits.
Required Skills:
Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
Active and unrestricted medical license in New York
Proven experience in general medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, or orthopedic surgery
Ability to perform interview-based evaluations with some physical assessments
Strong communication and organizational skills
Familiarity with medical documentation and report submission
Nice to Have Skills:
Prior experience with VA or government-sponsored assessments
Certification in pain management or trauma-informed care
Experience with compensation and pension evaluations
Knowledge of electronic medical records systems
Preferred Education and Experience:
Medical degree (MD or DO)
Minimum of 2 years clinical practice in a relevant specialty
Prior experience conducting Compensation & Pension exams or similar evaluations
Other Requirements:
Must own a professional office space in Ithaca or Trumansburg, NY, with availability to work 1 day (Ithaca) or 3 days (Trumansburg) per week
Willingness to work on a PRN basis with flexible hours, including half-day (4 hours) or full-day (8 hours) shifts
Complete credentialing and onboarding promptly
Willingness to perform administrative follow-up work, including report submissions and addendums
Travel expenses included in pay rates; no additional reimbursements for certifications or portal training
Compensation:
Half-day (up to 4 hours): $800 flat rate
Full-day (5+ hours): $1,600 flat rate
One-time bonus of $650 upon completing required training and first exams
Paid weekly via direct deposit, with comprehensive medical benefits (W-2), sick leave, and additional reimbursements where applicable
