As a Locum Physician specializing in General Medicine, you will provide crucial assessment services for Veterans, including Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments across New York. Required Skills:
Valid medical license to practice in New York State
Board certification or active certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, or related fields with a focus on general medicine
Experience in performing Compensation & Pension exams or similar assessments
Excellent interview and physical assessment skills, including range of motion and muscle strength testing
Strong communication skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently in a clinical setting
Nice to Have Skills:
Previous experience with VA or government contract examinations
Familiarity with medical documentation standards for disability evaluations
Certification in medical assessments or related specialization
Comfort with telehealth or remote documentation workflows
Preferred Education and Experience:
MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in general medicine or related fields
Prior experience with compensation and pension evaluations is highly advantageous
Other Requirements:
Own a private office location for conducting exams (Ithaca, NY: 1 day/week; Trumansburg, NY: 3 days/week)
Willingness to work on a PRN basis, including half-day (4 hours) and full-day (8 hours) shifts
Ability to complete exams and report submissions efficiently within the designated times
Reliable internet and computer access for administrative follow-up work
Local candidates only; travel expenses included in pay rates
Certifications in DMA or portal training are not reimbursed prior to engagement
