VHS is seeking dedicated General Medicine Providers to conduct Compensation and Pension exams, as well as Separation Health Assessments across Missouri. This vital role supports our nation's Veterans by providing essential evaluations to ensure they receive the benefits they deserve. Required Skills:
Medical doctorate (MD or DO) with current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in Missouri
Proven experience in family medicine, internal medicine, or general medicine
Strong interview and physical assessment skills, including range of motion and muscle strength testing
Ability to perform physical examinations and accurately document findings
Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor
Familiarity with VA or military healthcare systems preferred but not required
Nice to Have Skills:
Prior experience with compensation and pension evaluations
Background in orthopedic surgery or experience conducting medical assessments
Knowledge of medical documentation and report writing
Certification in DMA or related credentials (though not mandatory before onboarding)
Preferred Education and Experience:
MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
At least 1-3 years of clinical practice in general medicine
Experience with veterans or in a military healthcare setting is a plus
Other Requirements:
Own a private office located within a 50-mile radius of the designated sites
Willingness to work on an PRN basis, with flexible half-day (4 hours) or full-day (8 hours) shifts
Ability to complete exams with minimal physical contact; no treatment or prescribing necessary
Quick credentialing and onboarding process
Reliable internet connection and necessary technology for documentation
Travel and administrative work are included in rates, with no additional reimbursements for certifications or portal training
This role offers a competitive hourly rate of $624.00, with flat rates of $800 for half-day shifts and $1,600 for full days, including travel and administrative time.
