We are seeking a highly skilled Locum Physician specializing in General Medicine to provide essential assessment services across Minnesota. Overview
As a Locum Physician in General Medicine, you will perform one-time Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments, primarily conducting interview-based evaluations with some physical assessments such as range of motion and muscle strength testing. This role is crucial in supporting our nation’s Veterans by delivering timely, accurate assessments without providing treatment or prescribing medication. You’ll work on a PRN basis, with the flexibility to choose half-day or full-day shifts, helping ensure Veterans receive the care they deserve.
Required Skills
Medical degree (MD or DO) with licensure in good standing in Minnesota
Board certification or eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, or related fields with general medicine experience
Proven experience with compensation and pension examinations or similar assessment roles
Strong interviewing skills and physical assessment capabilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and adhere to schedule demands
Nice to Have Skills
Familiarity with federal healthcare protocols and Veterans’ healthcare requirements
Certification in specific assessment techniques or relevant additional qualifications
Preferred Education and Experience
Medical degree from an accredited institution
Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in general medicine or related specialties
Previous experience conducting non-treatment evaluations or assessments for government agencies
Other Requirements
Provider must have their own office within a 25-mile radius of designated locations or reside within that radius
Ability to perform exams at assigned facilities in Detroit Lakes, Bemidji, or Rochester, MN, or from a personal office location
Willingness to commit to ongoing administrative follow-up work such as report writing and addendums
No need for additional certifications or portal training prior to start, as credentialing is quick.
Travel is included in the rate; licensing, certifications, and travel reimbursements are at your discretion.
