Veterans Evaluation Services (VES), a trusted Maximus company serving our nation's veterans, is looking for qualified Physicians to perform Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments across Indiana. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to vital veteran services while enjoying a flexible schedule and competitive compensation.
Your role will involve conducting interview-based assessments and physical evaluations such as range of motion and muscle strength testing. These non-treatment exams require no prescribing or clinical treatment, making it an ideal position for experienced professionals in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or those with general medicine backgrounds. Work options include part-time (½ days) or full days, with ON-GOING assignments starting February 2, 2026.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
Active medical license in Indiana.
Proven experience in general medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, or related fields.
Ability to perform interview-based assessments and basic physical examinations.
Strong communication skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and adhere to federal and state guidelines.
Nice to Have Skills:
Experience with Compensation & Pension examinations.
Background in orthopedic or musculoskeletal assessments.
Familiarity with VA protocols or veteran healthcare processes.
Certification or training related to medical assessments or evaluations.
Preferred Education & Experience:
Medical degree (MD or DO).
Minimum of two years clinical practice experience.
Prior experience with non-treatment exams or assessments is advantageous but not mandatory.
Other Requirements:
Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of service locations or own a suitable office space if working independently.
Availability for 2 days per week at specified locations with flexible scheduling.
Willingness to complete required credentialing and onboarding processes.
Travel and licensure costs are reimbursable where applicable.
No bill rates applicable; compensation structured per shift rates.
Hourly Pay Rate: $624.00
