We are seeking a motivated Locum Physician specializing in General Medicine to provide expert Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments across the beautiful state of California. This vital role supports veterans' health and benefits, offering flexible scheduling and a rewarding professional experience.
Required Skills
Medical degree (MD or DO) with current CA medical license.
Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, or related general medicine specialties.
Experience in conducting VA Compensation & Pension exams or similar assessments preferred.
Strong interview and physical assessment skills, including range of motion and muscle strength testing.
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and navigate medical documentation accurately.
Excellent communication skills and professionalism.
Nice to Have Skills
Prior experience with veterans' healthcare or assessments.
Familiarity with VA procedures, forms, and documentation requirements.
Additional certifications such as DMA or other relevant credentials.
Comfort working in rural and diverse settings, including mobile or remote offices.
Preferred Education and Experience
Medical degree from an accredited institution.
Active California medical license.
Minimum of 1-2 years' experience in general medicine or similar assessment roles.
Previous experience with Compensation & Pension evaluations or related VA processes is advantageous.
Other Requirements
Availability to work on a PRN basis, with options for half-day or full-day shifts.
Willingness to perform exams at VA facilities or in own office locations within specified radii.
Must successfully complete credentialing and onboarding processes, including required training.
Ability to travel locally within designated areas, with travel expenses included in hourly rates.
Commitment to providing timely reports, addendums, and administrative documentation as part of regular follow-up work.
