Are you a compassionate and skilled Nurse Practitioner with a passion for serving those who have served our country? We are seeking dedicated General Medicine Providers to join our team on a flexible, PRN basis, performing vital Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments across New York. This is an outstanding opportunity to contribute to the well-being of Veterans while enjoying a rewarding and flexible assignment in your community.
In this role, you will conduct interview-based exams and physical assessments such as range of motion and muscle strength testing, providing essential evaluations that support Veterans’ benefits. No prescribing or treatment responsibilities are required, allowing you to focus on thorough assessments in a collaborative environment. Quick credentialing and onboarding ensure you can begin making an impact swiftly, with ongoing opportunities to work on a part-time basis, including half-day and full-day shifts.
Required Skills:
Current Nurse Practitioner license in New York
Proven experience in general medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, or related fields
Comfortable performing physical assessments and interviews
Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
Ability to work independently at your own office location
Reliable transportation and access to a private office setting
Nice to Have Skills:
Prior experience with compensation and pension exams
Familiarity with the Veterans Affairs benefits process
Ability to adhere to exam protocols and documentation requirements
Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing (BSN/MSN)
Own a private office location in Ithaca, NY (1 day/week) or Trumansburg, NY (3 days/week)
Willingness to perform exams on a PRN, ongoing basis
Ability to complete administrative follow-up work such as report submissions and addendums
No travel reimbursement; travel is included in the rates
Compensation:
Half-day Rate: $600 (up to 4 hours, includes exam time and report submission)
Full-day Rate: $1200 (5 hours or more, includes exam time and report submission)
One-time Bonus: $650 upon completing required training and first exams
Weekly pay via direct deposit and comprehensive medical benefits (W-2 status)
