Join our team as a Locum Nurse Practitioner in General Medicine and make a meaningful impact supporting Veterans’ health across Arizona. This flexible, PRN role offers you the opportunity to provide high-quality assessments, including Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments, in a variety of locations. Whether you favor working in your own office or at designated sites, this position allows you to contribute to our nation's veteran community while maintaining your professional independence.
Required Skills:
Valid Nurse Practitioner license in Arizona
Proven experience in general medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, or orthopedic surgery
Strong interview and physical assessment skills, including range of motion and muscle strength testing
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Comfortable adhering to strict timelines and documentation standards
Nice to Have Skills:
Prior experience with compensation and pension (C&P) exams
Familiarity with government or veteran-focused healthcare settings
Certification in medical assessments or related areas
Experience with telehealth consults or virtual assessments
Preferred Education and Experience:
Master’s degree or higher in Nursing (MSN or DNP preferred)
At least 2 years of clinical practice in general medicine
Previous experience performing C&P exams or similar assessments is advantageous
Other Requirements:
Candidates must reside within specified distances of selected locations (e.g., 30-50 miles)
Ability to work flexible hours, including half-day or full-day shifts
Willingness to travel locally within assigned regions
Must successfully complete credentialing, onboarding, and training
No prescribing or treatment responsibilities
Availability to perform ongoing administrative follow-up work such as report submissions and addendums
Compensation & Benefits:
Hourly/flat-rate compensation: $600 for half-day (4-hour) shifts, $1200 for full-day (5+ hour) shifts
One-time bonus of $650 upon completing all required training and first exams
Weekly pay schedule via direct deposit
