VHS is looking for a qualified Physician - Emergency Medicine.

Shift: 12 Hours Overnight shift.
Description: START MONTH: ASAP - 60 days from when a complete app is submitted
EST LENGTH OF ASSIGNMENT: unknown
PROVIDERS NEEDED #FT or #PT - # of shifts to cover 4-5 providers 15-20 shifts per month
MINIMUM # of SHIFTS ACCEPTABLE 2-3 days if local and no travel 3-4 days if not local and traveling in for shifts
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS -: Must be board certified in their specialty or eligible within 5 years of residency completion. They will accept Family Medicine FM Internal Medicine IM or Pediatric Medicine PM for ED with proof of 7000 ED activity.
Will the facility accept alternative boards? ABPS? ABPS is not accepted
RESIDENCY TRAINED REQUIREMENTS Must complete an ACGME accredited program
Board certified physicians don’t need life support certs
ANNUAL VOLUME: ranges from 15k-48k
PATIENTS PER DAY: ranges from 35-140
EMS: ranges from 10-28
ADMITTED PATIENT: ranges from 18-30
TRAUMA LEVEL DESIGNATION: ranges from level 2 to level 4

EXPEDITED LOCUM PRIVILEGES? Critical Care Need privileges are possible but the MSO has warned we shouldn’t ask for that for everyone and not until closer to the open date. Takes about 3 weeks to issue.
ONBOARDING REQUIREMENTS Orientation/EMR training Will need to schedule an EMR training session prior to first shift for Cerner.
