VHS is looking for a qualified Clinical Psychologist - Behavioral Health Optimization Program.

Role: Licensed Clinical Psychologist, BHOP Program
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM | 40 hours per week
Behavioral Health Optimization Program (BHOP) Assists individuals in preventing and coping with chronic disease by maintaining healthy habits including regular exercise, balanced diet, stress management, relaxation and tobacco cessation. Services include counselling and biofeedback.
Qualification requirements are:
Must possess a doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited psychology program; and completed an APA-accredited internship.
Must possess an active U.S. state license to practice as a Clinical Psychologist.
Must possess a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
Must possess a minimum of 2 full years of recent experience working as a Licensed Clinical Psychologist within an outpatient mental health clinic.
The duties for the Clinical Psychologist will be under the Behavioral Health Optimization Program (BHOP) program but duties are not limited to the following:
• Attend and participate in meetings during normal duty hours and professional staff conferences and other appropriate professional activities such as, but not limited to the following: Quality Improvement meeting, professional staff meetings, Commander's staff meetings, Mental Health Flight meetings, and others required by applicable regulations, MTF guidance, or as directed by the Mental Health Flight Commander or his/her designated representative.
• Conduct applied research and clinical investigations in clinical/behavioral health psychology.
• Clinical/Counseling Psychology. Responsible for and applies psychological procedures and techniques, including interviewing, behavioral assessment, evidenced-based therapies, and limited psychological testing/psycho-diagnostic testing, in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of psychological and neuropsychological disorders.
• Individual, family and group psychotherapy, and couples therapy, alcohol, and drug treatment evaluations.
• Consults with medical personnel, legal authorities, military commanders, and school districts, as required.
• Maintain accurate and current notes in both the Mental Health records of all patients seen, as appropriate, and produces reports of evaluation and/or treatment, as required.
• Participates in military specific training (e.g., training to perform Command Directed Evaluations, security clearances, Military Training Instructor clearances, pre-post deployment screening, PTSD, and combat stress)
• Conduct more comprehensive psychological evaluations to address complex diagnostic and treatment issues. Provide counseling in a short-term treatment environment.
Use medical and mental health diagnoses, disabilities, and treatment procedures. This includes acute, chronic, and traumatic illnesses/injuries, common medications and their effects/side effects, and medical terminology. Independently provide counseling and/or psychotherapy services to individuals, groups, couples, and families. Must practice within the bounds of the license or certification. Provide consultation services to other staff about the psychosocial needs of patients and the impact of psychosocial problems on healthcare and compliance with treatment. Prepare and maintain records and reports pertaining to specialty services.
