Position Overview:
As a Locum OB Hospitalist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality obstetric care on weekends. Your expertise will ensure safe deliveries, manage obstetric emergencies, and collaborate with hospital teams to enhance patient outcomes. This position is ideal for physicians seeking flexible scheduling, supplemental income, and a rewarding professional experience.
Required Skills:
Medical degree (MD or DO) with active, unrestricted medical license in Texas or eligible for licensing
Board certification or eligibility in Obstetrics and Gynecology
Proven experience in obstetric hospitalist duties
Strong clinical skills in labor management and emergency obstetric care
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment
Nice to Have Skills:
Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
Ability to handle high-volume labor and delivery units
BLS and ACLS certifications
Prior locum or temporary clinical work experience
Preferred Education and Experience:
Medical degree from an accredited institution
At least 2 years of post-residency experience in obstetrics
Previous hospitalist or inpatient obstetric experience
Other Requirements:
Availability to work on weekends, with shift lengths of 12 hours
Must possess or obtain current medical licenses, certifications, and DEA registration as applicable
Willingness to travel or relocate if necessary for coverage
Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care
