We are seeking motivated General Medicine Medical Officers to serve as locum providers for Veteran Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments across Missouri. Required Skills
Licensure as a Physician (MD or DO) with current, valid medical license in Missouri or ability to obtain licensure quickly
Background in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or related general medicine fields
Experience with compensation and pension examinations or familiarity with interview-based assessments and physical testing (range of motion, muscle strength) preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to conduct thorough interviews and assessments accurately
Ability to work independently in a clinical setting with minimal supervision
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for report submissions and follow-up documentation
Nice to Have Skills
Prior experience in veteran healthcare, disability evaluations, or federal medical exams
Familiarity with VA or military healthcare systems
Proficiency with medical documentation software or electronic health records
Additional certifications such as DMA or other relevant credentials
Preferred Education and Experience
Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
Board certification or eligibility in family medicine, internal medicine, or related specialties
Previous clinical experience in general medicine or performing assessment exams for compensation purposes
Proven track record of working independently in outpatient or remote settings
Other Requirements
Own office location within a 50-mile radius of designated sites (sites include Cape Girardeau, St. Joseph, Mountain Grove, Butler, Farmington, Licking, Sedalia, Poplar Bluff, Rolla, St. Louis, Kennett) or be willing to establish a suitable workspace in these areas
Ability to work on a PRN, as-needed basis, with flexible scheduling (days and hours) including half-day and full-day shifts
No prescribing or treatment responsibilities, focused solely on interview-based assessments and physical exam components
Successful credentialing and onboarding process
Must adhere to all applicable state, federal, and local regulations
This role offers an hourly pay rate of $624.00, with options for flat rates for half-day and full-day shifts, along with a one-time bonus upon training completion.
